Marine Accident and Incident Investigation training
Discover the core knowledge needed to carry out accident and incident investigation and reporting.
Tell me moreIt is recommended under the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) that Marine Safety Management Systems (MSMS), operated and developed by Harbour Authorities or owners of marine facilities, should be subject to an annual internal audit.
Internal audits provide assurance that a MSMS is fit for purpose, and help identify system or process enhancements.
To be effective, internal audits require an understanding of the PMSC and related good practice, combined with the auditing skills to identify conformity, compliance and system adaptation.
PMSC: Internal Auditor develops the necessary skills to assess and report on the conformance and implementation of a MSMS.
Delivered by our experienced maritime specialists, the two-day course provides an in-depth review of the PMSC and accompanying Guide to Good Practice on Port Marine Operations.
The course details all steps involved in auditing, from preparation through to reporting and action close-out. It covers auditing terminology and the practical auditing skills of questioning, recording and summarising auditee information. Tutors lead each session with attendee contribution through managed tasks and practical exercises.
Anyone who is being tasked within their operation to perform the internal audit function of the PMSC.
