Marine Risk Management Training

ABP Southampton

The Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) recommends that Harbour Authorities and marine facilities operate under a Marine Safety Management System (MSMS) in order to reduce risk to As Low As Reasonable Practicable (ALARP).

Marine Risk Management is an integral part to any MSMS and underpins the guiding ethos of the PMSC.

A comprehensive understanding of hazards, risks and mitigations within the marine environment allows for effective identification and control. Robust risk management provides a safe and efficient operation, fulfilling the requirements of the PMSC and promoting industry best practice.
