Green Port Hull EIA
ABPmer supported the Port of Hull in the development of a manufacturing facility for offshore wind turbines.
The Green Port Hull vision is to establish Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire as a world class centre for renewable energy, creating wealth and employment for the region. By taking advantage of the Port of Hull’s prime location in relation to the offshore wind opportunities in the North Sea the region is perfectly placed to capitalise on the UK’s offshore wind industry.
Following the announcement that Siemens had selected the Port of Hull as the preferred location for a new offshore wind turbine manufacturing facility, ABPmer was commissioned to undertake all of the marine components of an EIA for a facility at Alexandra Dock.
ABPmer worked with URS/Scott Wilson to complete the full environmental statement. Hull City Council subsequently granted planning permission for the development of Alexandra Dock 3. ABPmer has since worked with ABP Hull to develop an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP).
