East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm cable landfall assessment

Coastal change investigation ahead of cable landfall for a proposed wind farm

We were commissioned by East Anglia Offshore Wind Ltd (Scottish Power Renewables and Vattenfall) to investigate ongoing and possible future coastal changes at the proposed location for the East Anglia ONE Wind Farm export cable landfall.

ABPmer carried out a desk-based study considering the main coastal processes operating at the landfall and the potential driving factors behind past and ongoing changes to coastal morphology.

The outputs of our work were used to ensure sufficient levels of conservatism were factored into the engineering design, in terms of the minimum distance at which the jointing bay infrastructure should be sited landward of the beach and the minimum depth for cable burial below the beach and nearshore seabed.
