Principal/Senior Marine and Coastal Environmental Consultant

Are you an experienced project manager with an understanding of marine consents?

Are you ready to apply your knowledge and experience to major projects on the coast and offshore?

We are looking for a Principal/Senior Consultant to join our Environment team to manage and provide advice to a wide range of large-scale marine and coastal projects including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

About you

You know about the UK marine planning and consents regime and have demonstrable project management experience, preferably within a consultancy environment.

You are a highly organised, collaborative and self-motivated individual, with excellent report writing and engaging presentation skills. You will have a strong commitment to sustainable development in the marine environment.

Depending on your background, you will be skilled in:

  • Project management / delivery
  • Environmental Assessments including Environmental Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessments, Water Framework Directive, Marine Conservation Zone, Strategic Environmental Assessments and Sustainability Appraisals
  • Coordinating and managing projects through the marine licensing and consenting process
  • Preparation and contribution to the proposal/tendering process
  • Business development

Qualifications and experience

  • You will have a degree or postgraduate degree in a marine environmental discipline
  • At least five years’ relevant experience in a consultancy or regulatory background
  • A background in staff development
