The Pagham Harbour Inlet - changes and challenges on a dynamic shoreline

We have created an online story-map describing coastal change along the Pagham (West Sussex) shoreline. Our specialists have used ArcGIS Online mapping software to integrate text, pictures, videos and maps in a way that allows the story to unfold.

We hope that this is a useful and simple summary of what is a complex location. Pagham Harbour has an important story to tell and should be considered key reference case-example for future decisions about sustainable coastal management.

ABPmer is pleased to have worked with the local community on the Pagham project and to have collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders to explore issues and seek permissions for an innovative solution along this section of coastline.

We would also like to thank the many parties who have provided photos and information for our work and story map. This includes Sussex by Air, RSPB, Natural England, John Akerman, the Channel Coastal Observatory, local residents, Arun District Council, the Environment Agency, Natural England, Rich Matthews and members of the new Pagham Harbour Coastal Issues Advisory Group.
