ABPmer will undertake a phase one baseline survey of key features in the Bembridge MCZ, and assess the direction of ecological change.
Learn moreABPmer’s marine ecological survey calendar shows the appropriate time to conduct a range surveys including coastal habitats, fish, invertebrates, marine mammals, seabirds and waterbirds.
Habitat and species surveys are needed for a variety reasons, from baseline assessments to inform EIAs and designation decisions to post consent monitoring and understanding management measure success.
However, to accurately assess habitat condition and/or species presence there are recommended times in which to undertake a survey. This means it is important to consider what may be required in the early stages of a project, to ensure programmes do not impact a project timeline.

ABPmer’s marine ecological survey calendar shows the appropriate time to conduct a range surveys including coastal habitats, fish, invertebrates, marine mammals, seabirds and waterbirds.
Use the calendar to inform project programmes, arrange ecological surveys and avoid delays.
Please note: the survey calendar is for guidance only. Survey timings may also be constrained by weather conditions, location, target species and method. We recommend you seek advice as to when a particular type of survey is best undertaken.
