Principal/Senior Marine Environmental Consultant

We are looking for a Senior Consultant who will be responsible for managing and advising on a wide range of large scale marine and coastal projects including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. The successful candidate must be efficient, highly organised and have demonstrable project experience. The candidate should have a consultancy background with excellent commercial awareness and communication skills. We are looking for a hard-working, ambitious and self-motivated individual, able to inspire others. Excellent report writing and presentation skills are essential for this post which will also include exposure to clients and Business Development.

Key Tasks

  • Project management
  • Environmental Assessments including Environmental Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessments, Water Framework Directive, Strategic Environmental Assessments and Sustainability Appraisals
  • Co-ordinating and managing projects through the licensing and consenting process
  • Preparation and contribution to the proposal/tendering process
  • Business Development

Skills and Experience


  • Have a degree or postgraduate degree in a marine environmental discipline
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a consultancy or regulatory background
  • Proven track record in the consenting of marine and coastal schemes
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills
  • A major interest in contributing to the staff development aims of the company
