Weather Windows

Weather downtime is a logistical and financial risk when planning or offering vessel services. Such risk is typically identified and managed using statistical predictions.

To make our in-house calculations we use the hindcast database in SEASTATES, ABPmer’s metocean information service, which holds validated weather back to 1979. Using this long data set, we can make confident assessments of expected weather downtime for any location, operation or time.

Click to visit our dedicated SEASTATES website

We also offer an online on-demand weather downtime service. Developed in conjunction with the offshore industry, this service minimises the time needed to provide statistics by offering direct 24/7 access to our SEASTATES weather downtime calculator.

All our downtime analyses can consider any combination of home ports, incorporate complex multi-stage operations with multiple limiting parameters and process any number of scenarios, allowing rapid testing and decision making.

Our weather downtime service is regularly used by developers, operators and contractors to inform decision-making and financial arrangements.
