Weather Windows

Weather downtime is a logistical and financial risk when planning or offering vessel services. Such risk is typically identified and managed using statistical predictions.

We make our weather downtime calculations using our SEASTATES global hindcast databases, which hold validated weather back to 1979. Using these long, industry-recognised datasets, we can make confident assessments of expected weather downtime for any location, operation or time.

We also offer an online, on-demand weather downtime subscription service. Developed in conjunction with offshore operators, our Weather Downtime Express (WDTX) service offers direct 24/7 access to our highly resolved SEASTATES hindcast databases.

All our downtime analyses can consider any combination of home ports, incorporate complex multi-stage operations with multiple limiting parameters and process any number of scenarios, allowing rapid testing and decision making.

WDTX is regularly used by developers, operators and contractors to inform decision-making and financial arrangements.
