COVID-19: ABPmer business continuity

In view of the of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we would like to assure clients of our business continuity actions during this time.

The health and well-being of our staff and clients are of utmost importance.

The actions outlined below reflect this priority while ensuring, as far as possible, minimal disruption to service.

Since the beginning of the lockdown period in March, with a few exceptions, all staff are working from home. We have robust remote access to our corporate systems in place to provide continuity of service. You can contact them on the usual number(s), as call forwarding is in process.

Our planning is in line with the policy guidance of our parent company, Associated British Ports.

On site and survey activities

All on site activities will only be conducted where adherence to the current government guidance on social distancing can be maintained.

Each site-specific Risk Assessment and Safe System of Work will be reviewed, before the activity can be undertaken, to confirm the detailed COVID-19 controls required.

Audit and compliance work

In line with our parent company policy guidance on Compliance Tasks, all on-site audit work will continue until further notice. To discuss or book a compliance audit, please contact Monty Smedley on +44 (0)23 8071 1892.

Business meetings

We have suspended all face-to-face business meetings where our staff do not need to be physically present. If you have a meeting scheduled with us, we will be in touch to arrange a telephone or teleconference alternative.

Training courses

As our training courses are delivered most effectively in person, all of our current courses hosted by ABPmer in Southampton have been cancelled. We will offer you a full refund of the course fee, or transfer you to a future course – see link below for details.

If you are unsure whether your training course is affected, please contact your host.

For more information on our training courses, please click here.

Industry events

We regularly meet clients and contacts at industry events. Most events we were planning to attend in the coming months are either cancelled or postponed, and our own internal policy prevents staff from nonessential travel at this time.

We are continuing to update our website with industry events that are currently scheduled or rescheduled and look forward to hopefully seeing you there later in the year.
