In January 2008 ABPmer committed to maintain a programme of carbon emission offsetting resulting from all business travel and electricity consumption. This programme is implemented through Climate Care.
Climate Care is an organisation that reduces greenhouse gas emissions on behalf of companies and individuals. These reductions are made through a range of projects around the world including green energy and energy efficiency projects that not only make real reductions in carbon emissions, but also make a difference to people's lives.
Its work includes funding wind turbines in India and China, and projects in Mexico and Ghana that make fuel efficient cooking stoves available in some of the poorest communities, cutting fuel use and carbon emissions while also improving quality of life.
ABPmer will continue to monitor its carbon outputs and offset after each calendar year accordingly. In addition a Resource Efficiency Group is in place to monitor progress against targets and to introduce further resource saving initiatives.
