GIS Analyst - Maternity Cover

ABPmer’s Data Team deals with a variety of work in the fields of GIS, data management, remote sensing and other IT related topics, combined with a range of subjects such as environment, coastal protection, renewable energy locations, flood risk, etc.

To maintain our range of existing services, we currently have a vacancy for a GIS Analyst (maternity cover).

This post will primarily be responsible for assisting with the production of report figures, volumetric analysis and data preparation working closely with colleagues within the Data Team, and internal and external project managers.

Applicants should preferably have a degree in GIS or a closely related subject with 1 - 2 years commercial experience of ArcGIS (v10 preferable) and/or MapInfo focusing on the marine environment. However, consideration will be given to applicants who have relevant GIS experience from a terrestrial background.

A working understanding of ArcGIS extensions (3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst) and Python would be desirable as well as good experience of Microsoft Office products, including Access and VB/VB.NET programming skills.

It will be advantageous for the successful applicant to have project management experience, the ability to write concise project reports, prioritise workloads and be able to work under pressure.
